If you're looking to get better at a specific skill, we offer a variety of technical clinics throughout the year. Topics include: fitness, multi-pitch climbing, rappelling, self-rescue, falling, movement and technique, women's clinics, and more! In addition to our scheduled clinic offerings, parties of two or more may schedule any of our clinics at any time.  For more information on clinics, give us a call at 586-0706.  Advanced registration and deposit required for all clinics.

 

Women's Clinic

Designed for beginner to intermediate climbers, our Women’s Series is a six-week clinic that introduces women to rock climbing in a safe and welcoming environment. Whether this is your first time climbing, or you are hoping to boost your skills, this clinic will help you reach your goals and meet other female climbers.  This clinic is taught by a our very experienced female instructors.

Self Rescue

This clinic teaches climbers the life-saving details of self-rescue. Focusing on knots and prusiks, lowering techniques and pulley systems, this two-day course gives climbers the skills they need to extract themselves and their partners from dangerous situations on roped climbs.

When: Offered on a by-request basis with a minimum of two participants.  This clinic consists of two four-hour sessions.  Call for pricing and to schedule.

Falling

Does even the thought of safe, planned falls make your palms sweat uncontrollably? Whether falling is terrifying or fun for you, our Falling Clinic has something to offer.  During this course, we tackle not only the art of safe falling, but also the mental game that goes along with it.

Crack Climbing Fundamentals

Planning your first-ever trip to Indian Creek, Devil’s Tower or Yosemite? Without help, the transition from face climbing to crack climbing can be long, scary, and frustrating. However, with organized instruction, the switch to crack climbing can be quick and painless. Our Crack Climbing Fundamentals Clinic prepares you for these world-class areas, sharpening your skills, and giving you confidence in a safe, controlled setting.

Movement and Technique

In rock climbing, strength is helpful—but it’s certainly not everything! Our Movement and Technique Clinic teaches you the most efficient movement patterns and savvy strategies for maximizing your own physical attributes. Whether you’re working on a boulder project, or striving to become a better sport climber, this class will help you refine your technical skills and mental approach.

Anchor Cleaning

Anchor cleaning is one of the most fundamental skills in outdoor roped climbing—and it’s imperative that climbers learn how to do it properly! Our Anchor Cleaning Clinic takes you through all of the steps and variations of anchor cleaning so that when you’re alone at the top of a pitch, you can retrieve your gear and get down to the ground safely and efficiently.

Rappelling

Whether the thought of rappelling is exciting or scary to you, being able to rappel safely is an indispensable skill for outdoor rock climbing, canyoneering and—of course—rappelling. Our Rappelling Clinic takes you through the act of rappelling in a step-by-step fashion, getting you ready for any rappelling scenario you might encounter in the great outdoors.

Multi-Pitch Climbing

Perhaps you already know how to lead climb in the gym—or even outside. However, if you’ve only ever climbed one pitch at a time, the world of multi-pitch climbing requires an expanded skill set. Our Multi-pitch Climbing Clinic takes you through the ins and outs of climbing “off the deck”—and includes skills like anchor building, safe gear placements and rappelling.
